Towards 5G System: Issues and Challenges in Interferences Mitigation and Capacity Enhancement
In the next generation Fifth Generation (5G), the deployment of small cells with different classes of base stations; macro-cell, pico-cell, and femto-cell known as heterogeneous network (HetNets) over multiple Radio Access Technologies (multi-RATs) is essential. In such multi-tier configuration, the conventional methods for interference management such as spectrum assignment, cell associations, power control and load balancing probably no more efficient. Besides, there will be more challenging task in interference management, particularly to enhance user capacity using massive MIMO and beamforming techniques. Major research challenges and comparative analysis of the existing approaches in 4G in mitigating the interference are then emphasized.
